Stubborn Elm Ranch
        Icelandic Sheep
Purebred,  CLRC   Registered,
Primitive ,  Tri-Purpose
Icelandic   Sheep
( Milk, Fiber, Meat )
in a gorgeous array of
colors  &  patterns.
We have both Horned & Polled
Icelandic Sheep.
We breed with a focus towards a solid
& correct conformation & build,
beautiful, lustrous fleece, & milky ewes.
We also select for multiple
births/twinning.

When we first decided to make our start with a small Icelandic
Sheep Flock, we had a difficult time finding all the
information we needed like;

What are the
characteristics of a quality Icelandic sheep?

How to  identify & breed for the different
colors and patterns?

How to successfully
market our sheep and their products?

What is involved in
milking Icelandic Sheep?

How to properly
identify and tag our lambs?

Later it came time to "name" our first years lambs.  We needed
help deciphering what can appear as
complicated names and codes.

The most informative site, by far, that we have found to date is
the
Tongue River Farm website
owned by the late Susan Briggs and preserved by her children to
provide this wealth of information to others who are interested
in this valuable, multi-purpose,  heritage breed,
for which we are extremely grateful .
We have also found the following websites to have some
interesting & helpful articles & information about owning,
raising, breeding, and enjoying Icelandic Sheep.
We are located in the Greater Salt Lake City Area
of Utah. If you  are interested in adding Icelandic
Sheep to your flock,  feel free to
